Nikos Dimou

Henri Lebasque, femme sur le lit, 1865

Dedication

I have forgotten the scent of the jasmine.

But exiting at night, all of a sudden,
dressed in the thin tunic of  your sweat
dressed in the golden garment of your perfume,
I fell against the scent of the jasmine as against a wall of glass.
I keep dreaming of what I lived.
The fresh body in the shadows,
the vigorous body in ecstasy
and the cry , the cry-

I love you tenderly and I love you wildly,
I walk at night dressed in your thin sweat
wreathed with the scent of  jasmine
and I foresee.

I doubt the poem, it 's poor.
I am also poor without you.
If we make a poem together
I have never written a better one.

                                                        Fernando Botero, Indigo lovers

No matter what , one day we 'll drive apart,
of love, of death, of time.
I d like us though to part together.
Not apart.

Nikos Dimou, No matter what
