The knife

As the steel takes time to become a sharp and useful knife
so do the words they take time to get sharpened  into speech
In the meantime
while  working on the grinder
be careful not to be carried away
                                                    not to get arrogant
by the bright sequence of the sparks.
Just mind the knife.

Το μαχαίρι

Όπως αργεί τʼ ατσάλι να γίνει κοφτερό και χρήσιμο μαχαίρι
έτσι αργούν κʼ οι λέξεις νʼ ακονιστούν σε λόγο.
Στο μεταξύ 
όσο δουλεύεις στον τροχό
πρόσεχε μην παρασυρθείς
                                           μην ξιπαστείς 
απ΄ την λαμπρή αλληλουχία των σπινθήρων.
Σκοπός σου εσένα το μαχαίρι.
